Description
Austrian Model 1873 sword bayonet for the Werndl rifle with the first of the new press stud release button. Normal Austrian marking of “OE over WG” to ricasso and serial number 1705 to the quillon of the crossguard. Black chequered composition grips secured by three straight rivets. Minor pitting to crossguard and pommel. Scabbard is all steel painted black with the marking “OE over WG” to the frog stud. (Reference WW22, JN 7-3 and K #381)
AMENDMENT: I have been advised that as this rifle has a MR of 17.5mm it was for the M1885 Mannlicher (Thanks David)
