Description
Belgium Model 1777/1868 Terssen Rifle bayonet. Sabre blade, fullered, with sawback with 38 double teeth. This is one of only two sawback bayonets used by Belgium. Right side of ricasso marked “186?” and “Crown over FA” in a cartouche. Hilt is brass with 15 vertical grooves and secured by a steel rivet with the right side of the crossguard struck with serial number V over 437. Soligen made blade by P.D Luneschlose with Belgium inspection proofs “GB” in circle which is Government Belge. Bayonet is in very good condition with areas of staining and pepper pitting to blade. No scabbard. (Reference WW 77 and K #384)
