Description
British Pattern 1842 socket bayonet with Lovell’s Lug made by Osborne, which can just be made out on the blade that is proof marked as is the actual lug. The P1842 was first made with the Hanoverian catch then in 1844 the lug was added. The bayonet is in very good condition with no pitting but with original patina and some staining. A rack number “10” is engraved to the socket. This bayonet was originally from R W Richardson Collection (cable tie & number 351). Reference BCB B139 and pages 100-101.
There is no scabbard.
