Description
British Pattern 1888 Model II manufactured by Sanderson in Sheffield. Manufactured/issued October 1900 (10 ’00). Ricasso has acceptance mark, inspection mark and the bend test mark. Wood grips are secured by brass rivits and stamped “TAS” on one side and “49” on the other.
There are inspection marks stamped to the top of the blade, a “U” and a “6” to the underside of the tang.
Pattern 1888 scabbard has Enfield proof mark, acceptance mark and an issue date of 1900 “00” stamped in the leather. Both bayonet and scabbard in very good condition with the rear of the scabbard locket having some minor dents.
