Description
AUSTRALIAN L1A2 (FAL – SLR) BAYONET made at Lithgow. This bayonet is an unusual variation in that the bayonet is basically in a partly raw (or unfinished) condition. There is no black finish with a dull plain blade which is 201mm in length and with a longer false edge/ clip point of 60mm. As with production of the L1A2 bayonets there are no markings to the bayonet.
In this example there are significant machining marks to the pommel and blade. This bayonet has not been buffed and/or polished. The scabbard is the No.5 MkII (mouthpiece with rim). (Reference is BCB A32 and pages 291 and 292).
