Description
This AUSTRALIAN L1A2 (FAL – SLR) BAYONET was one of the first made bayonets at Lithgow. Whilst actual production started in 1958, this bayonet has been made from British parts. The grips show the British production number 960-0011 for the L1A1 never produced in Australia. You will note that the blade has Enfield proofs and is dated 1957. The bayonet is of a gloss black finish with plain blade.
The scabbard is the No.5 MkII (mouthpiece with rim). (Reference is BCB A32 and pages 291 and 292).
