This AUSTRALIAN M9 bayonet for the Steyr AUG/F88 was manufactured by BUCK. This bayonet is in excellent condition and appears without wear or damage.

The Australian M9 bayonet has a distinctive broad arrow on the right hand side of the 188 stamping. Production was from July 1991 to September 1992. Following its removal from service and substituted with an M7 version it has become rare and well sort after. Approximately 900 bayonets were made for the USA civilian market in February 1993 with black oxide blades after the overrun of blades. (Reference is Neyman pages 151 to 155).

This bayonet’s scabbard is different from the original BUCK made one and is manufactured by LANCAY. The LANCAY scabbard is different in that the bayonet retaining strap simply secures the bayonet to the belt clip assembly without the second strap traversing the the crossguard and fastening to the scabbard body. It has a newly designed belt attachment system (similar to the BIANCHI attachment) whilst still using the FASTEX quick detachable clip assembly (made by ITW NEXUS in Wood Dale Illinois USA.)

As mentioned in bayonet number E3214 later issues of the M9 bayonet use scabbards produced by LANCAY. In the product images there are four photos showing these variations in scabbard and attachments, however, all have the BUCK produced bayonet. Each of these examples is also listed separately.
