Description
In 2007 AIA (Australian International Arms) made many new longarm firearms based on the Lee Enfields. In addition to the longarms AIA made a replica of the Australian Machette Bayonet Mk1 as the original due to its rarity rose in price and became prohibitive for the average collector.
These replica bayonets were made true to pattern and whilst they were of exceptional quality they were never meant to deceive anyone. Firstly each bayonet was subtly marked with the logo and a production number both of which were added to the ricasso of the bayonet. The finish was a matt phosphate whilst the original was gloss bluing. In addition the scabbard was purposely made with the rivets in reverse. Over the years these bayonets have become collectible in their own right.
This bayonet is number 0086.
