Description
Australian Pattern 1907 sword bayonet manufactured at the Lithgow feeder factory Orange (OA – Orange Arsenal). One of the bayonets in the first year of manufacture at Orange. Dated September 1942 (9 ’42), grips dated 1942 (SLAZ 42) and scabbard also dated 1942 (Mangrovite ’42). Bayonet is finished in grey (parkerised?) finish and along with the scabbard is in excellent condition with no damage, rust or pitting. May have been unissued as there is no rifle serial number to the pommel. (Reference WW 6 and BCB A10).
