Description
Pattern 1907 bayonet with hooked quillon manufactured at Lithgow and dated 1914. This bayonet has the typical proof marks on one side of the blade/ricasso and the clear marking “LITHGOW” and date (1914) on the other side of ricasso. The scabbard is the early style, figured locket and chape, teardrop frog stud each with the proof mark of A inside the 6 pointed star. You will note the the leather has the Lithgow proof followed by the word LITHGOW over the A in the star over the date which is very hard to read due to the age. The bayonet shows old pitting to both sides of the pommel and parts of the crossguard. Military District marking are evident on the crossguard and mouth piece of the scabbard. Excellent value for the condition of this bayonet.
