Description
The first Australian Steyr AUG trials bayonet was manufactured in Germany by A.Eickhorn GmbH & Co.(note the squirrel logo to the ricasso). Eickhorn initially supplied a small batch of bayonets as samples. These were of a commercial model KCB77 but with a dark green integral frog with gloss black finished rivets and green leather leg tie down.
The bayonet is a matt black overall and the black scabbard has a wire cutting attachment and there is a screwdriver at the point of the scabbard. (Reference B&CB A33, page 293 and AMRB page 101)
