Description
China Hanyang M1935 bayonet is a bayonet used on the Chinese Chiang Kai-Shek rifle. Roger Evans in his book “The Bayonet – Evolution & History” has it as a model 1937. It is based on the Mauser S84/98 bayonet used on German Gewehr 98 rifles and derivatives and utilizes the same Mauser bayonet lug pattern.
This bayonet is a Chinese conversion of the Japanese Type 30 sword bayonet. Completely rehilted in China to fit the Mauser type rifle. The marking of the original manufacturer (Tokyo Arsenal) is still visible on the ricasso of the blade. This bayonet is in excellent condition with the blued blade being 390mm and overall 528mm. The scabbard is the all steel Arisaka type 30 scabbard.
This is the actual bayonet illustrated in Roger Evan’s book. (Reference RCDE Pg 150)
