Description

Austrian Model 1870 Officially shortened bayonet for the Werndl Model 1867 and Model 1873 calibre 11mm rifles. Chequered black leather grips with three rivets on the right side and four on the left. The M70 bayonet is a lightened version of the M67 with slimmer blade and with deep square fullers. Manufacturers markings “OE over WG” on ricasso and several markings to the quillion of the crossguard and ricasso. Black painted all steel scabbard with frog stuf marked “OW over WG”(Osterreichische Waffenfabriks-Gesellschaft, Steyr) . Overall bayonet and scabbard in very good condition with no damage or pitting.
