Description
Austrian Model 1888 knife bayonet with knot hook & down-swept quillon. Serial number 8696B on crossguard on one side and Gothic letter “D or V” to the other. The knife bayonet is marked OE over WG to ricasso and is bright finished as is the scabbard that shows some tarnishing. Wood grips with domed rivits. Crossguard has a muzzle ring adjustment screw. Blade is single edged with stopped square fullers and back of tang is stamped “LG”. (Reference TTH #18 and JN 8/2)
