Description
Austrian Model 1895 knife bayonet for Mannlicher rifle. This is the actual bayonet from the book “To The Hilt – The Austrian Bayonet” on page 116. Bayonet is finished bright and has a single edged flat unfullered blade with a false edge. The heel of the pommel is stamped “35008”. The ricasso and crossguard are devoid of any markings. The black painted scabbard has a flat frog stud marked OEWG and stamped with an Imperial Austrian Eagle. A black leather frog with stitched rectangular panel is attached to the scabbard. The design of this belt frog was introduced into service in 1908. (Reference TTH #116).
