Description
British Pattern 1888 Model II manufactured by Sanderson in Sheffield. Manufactured/issued November 1900 (11 ’00). Ricasso has acceptance mark, inspection mark and the bend test mark. Wood grips are secured by brass rivits and stamped “TAS” on one side and “116” on the other.
There are inspection marks stamped to the top of the blade and a “5” to the underside of the tang.
Pattern 1888 scabbard has Enfield proof mark, acceptance mark and two inspectors marks stamped in the leather. There is a “V” and a “5” stamped to the mouth of the scabbard locket. Both bayonet and scabbard in very good condition.
