Description
Turkey Model 1874 socket bayonet for the Peabody M1874 rifle. A cruciform blade retaining some partial bluing (patina?) to socket elbow and blade. Serial number K126 to the socket. This is the actual bayonet listed in W&W #620 as can be seen by the some dents to the scabbard locket (Part of the W&W collection brought to Australia in 1990) . Scabbard is four sided brown leather with brass fittings. Both in very good condition. (Reference WW 620, JN 190/1 and K #362)
