Description

USA/American M9 bayonet manufactured by Phrobis/Buck for the U.S military. The M9 Bayonet, officially known as the M9 Phrobis III, is a multi-purpose knife bayonet officially adopted in 1986 and made from January 1987 until September 1989. It is issued with a sheath/scabbard designed to double as a wire cutter. Fullered blade is 7-1/8″ (18cm) 420 Stainless Steel with Zinc oxide finish. Handle and sheath are Zytel nylon resin.

This bayonet is VARIATION #4.2 as can be seen with the large U.S.A. in the 4 line stamping to the ricasso with the positioning of the letter “0” and the positioning of the letter “B” of the second in line with the “S” of the third line. (Reference NEYMAN page 127)

Correct scabbard with moulded Phrobis logo, wire cutter, sharpening stone, ITW NEXUS made Fastex fastening system and Bianchi military belt holster clip. Both bayonet and scabbard are showing some wear but without any damage.
