Description
British Pattern 1907 sword bayonet with hook quillion. Manufactured by Wilkinson Sword Company in September 1909 and issued to Tasmania. Pommel marked T over 749. The scabbard manufactured at the Royal Small Arms Factory, Enfield ( ^/EFD/78 inspection mark) is faintly marked with the Australian contract acceptance mark of the arrow inside the “D”, the British acceptance mark “^ over WD” in 1910 (’10). The scabbard locket/ mouth is marked “T” on one side and “6MD 3420” on the other. A particularly rare bayonet as being issued to Tasmania. The bayonet has some metal staining but no rust or pitting. Scabbard locket has some surface rust that would be easily cleaned. (Reference BCB B234 and A9)
