Description
Austrian Model 1895 Ersatz knife bayonet for Mannlicher rifle. It is also noted by the author of “To The Hilt – The Austrian Bayonet”, that some references identify this model as the M.1917 Ersatz bayonet and German manufactured. An all steel knife bayonet and scabbard with OE/WG and Eagle Crest on frog stud. Blade cutting edge is inverted. Overall condition is very good with patina. A small metal reinforcement plate (approximately 1mm thick) is mounted in front of the guard, which is typically seen on these models of bayonets (Reference TTH #52, WW 50, JN 3/11 and K 538).
