Description
BRITISH BAYONET NO. 9 MK1/L manufactured by the Royal Small Arms Factory at Enfield in 1951 with D – 51 stamped to side of socket.
The bayonet has been chromed overall. The plated models were created at base workshops and Priest’s example (same as this piece) was used at Royal Marines at Devonport. The seller of this example said it was a family piece used in Korea. Scabbard is No.5 Mk 2 blackened finish with the locket/mouth piece also chromed. There are small scratch marks around the frog stud where the frob was renoved.
