Description
BRITISH BAYONET NO. 9 MK1/L manufactured by FRANCIS & BARNETT Ltd of Meriden, Coventry in 1949 in blackened finish with a bright blade in excellent condition as the blade is still wrapped in grease. M 49 stamp to the lead area/face of the muzzle opening under a British broad arrow acceptance mark. Scabbard is No.5 Mk2 blackened and also appears to be made by Francis & Barnett due to the size/proflie of the locket/mouthpiece and the shape of the body, where both vary to normal patterns.
