Description
British Pattern 1871 cutlass bayonet modified from Pattern 1859 in April 1875 (4/75 to ricasso). Enfield inspectors mark to one side of ricasso and “Crown over VR” on the other side. Approval stamped with the “arrow over WD”. Overall the cutlass is 793 mm with a blade 647 mm and a MR 18.00 mm. Serial number 122 to side of pommel. Cutlass is in very good condition without damage, Basket cup guard retains 90% of black finish inside and aged patina to outside of guard and hilt/pommel. No scabbard (Reference B&CB B192)
