Description
The Swiss scarce Model 1867 sabre bayonet is for the sharp shooters short rifle. This bayonet is a very rare variant in that whilst the pommel is brass the crossguard is steel. Black checkered leather grips secured by five rivets. Serial number “58” to pommel. The locking spring works on a pivot system and has a press stud in the middle of the grips. Manufactured by Gebruder Weyersberg with the ricasso marked GEBR. WEYERSBERG / SOLINGEN. No scabbard. (Reference WW 598, JN 183/3 and K 954)
