Description

USA model1892 Krag bayonet in rare Model 1912 cavalry leather picket pin bucket/scabbard. The picket pin scabbard is unusual in that it typically came with the “Patton Cavalry Sword” (the last official saber for horse-mounted US cavalry). This picket bin scabbard is in good condition where the stitching is intact but the leather is slightly crazed and the bayonet retaining strap is broken; there is some light green oxidation around bronze parts consistent with age.  Original walnut grip/handle scales are tight with domed rivets; bayonet release button is 100% functional and easy to operate. Ricasso is stamped 1903 on one side and US on the other. (Reference WW912)
